Role Overview
As our VP of Coach Success, you will be the primary advocate and leader for our community of professional life coaches. You will be responsible for the entire coach lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to engagement, performance, and retention. This strategic role requires a part-time commitment (initially 5-10 hours per week) and offers the opportunity to build the foundation of a thriving, high-quality coach network for an innovative startup. You'll work closely with the CEO, CPO, CXO, and CCO to ensure our platform empowers coaches to succeed and deliver transformative experiences. This position is ideal for an experienced leader passionate about community building, partner success, and the coaching industry, seeking an equity-based role in an early-stage venture.
Key Responsibilities
Coach Recruitment & Onboarding
- Develop and execute strategies to attract high-quality life coaches
- Design and manage a scalable and effective coach vetting process
- Create and optimize the coach onboarding experience to ensure platform readiness
- Establish clear quality standards and expectations for coaches
- Partner with Marketing to create targeted coach acquisition campaigns
Coach Engagement & Community
- Build and nurture a vibrant, supportive, and engaged coach community
- Develop communication channels and feedback loops for coaches
- Organize virtual events, workshops, and forums for coach connection and development
- Implement recognition programs to celebrate coach contributions and success
- Act as the primary point of contact and advocate for the coach community
Coach Performance & Quality
- Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for coach success
- Develop resources, training materials, and best practices to support coach growth
- Implement systems for quality assurance and client feedback regarding coaches
- Address coach performance issues constructively and manage offboarding when necessary
- Ensure the coach community upholds our platform's values and standards
Platform & Program Development
- Represent coach needs and perspectives in product development discussions
- Collaborate with the CPO and CXO to improve coach-facing tools and features
- Develop programs that enhance coach satisfaction and professional development
- Gather insights from coaches to inform overall business strategy
- Ensure coach payment systems are efficient and transparent (in collaboration with Finance)
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Psychology, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in community management, partner success, vendor management, or marketplace operations (supply-side)
- 3+ years in a leadership role managing teams or programs
- Proven ability to build and scale communities or partner networks
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience developing onboarding, training, or engagement programs
- Strong understanding of performance metrics and data-driven decision making
- Passion for personal development and empowering professionals
- Comfort with a part-time, strategic role with flexible time commitment
Preferred
- Experience in the coaching, wellness, therapy, or ed-tech industries
- Direct experience working with coaches or similar professional service providers
- Background managing operations for a two-sided marketplace
- Experience working in an early-stage startup environment
- Familiarity with CRM, community management platforms, and support tools
- Knowledge of coaching ethics and best practices
